Speakers from some of the best institutions in Asia will speak as part of this year’s RCC/MURPA (Monash Undergraduate Research Projects Abroad) IT-focused seminar series.
Dr Haohuan Fu from Tsinghua University, China, kicked off the seminar series on Friday, 28 July, with a talk about the Sunway TaihuLight supercomputer, which is currently ranked as the world's fastest HPC.
Dr Taisuke Boku from Japan's Center for Computational Sciences will follow Dr Fu's talk on Friday, 4 August with a seminar about Japan's supercomputers, including its current fastest one, Oakforest-PACS.
Also from Japan, Dr Jason Haga from the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology will speak about Information Technologies for Natural Disaster Management on Friday, 25 August.
On Friday, 1 September, Prof. Habibah Wahab, from the University of Science, Malaysia, will present her seminar titled: 'Structural bioinformatics strategy in the design of antiviral drugs from natural products'.
Dr Fang-Pang Lin from Taiwan's National Center for High-Performing Computing will deliver a seminar on Friday, 8 September. The topic and title of his seminar has yet to be announced.
