RCC has a number of staff who are high-performance computing (HPC) experts, but three are specifically tasked with working directly with UQ researchers to assist with their use of UQ and national HPCs.  

Drs Marlies Hankel, Edan Scriven and David Green assist UQ researchers in the following ways: 

  • Helping with organising HPC access and applications (locally and externally) 

  • Helping with workload optimisation 

  • Building and installing software for HPCs 

  • Training and helping users in a variety of software languages. 

  • Hosting RCC’s monthly “Introduction to HPC” training workshops (check RCC’s Training webpage for upcoming sessions 

  • Hosting the UQ Hacky Hour and Virtual HPC meetups (visit our Meetups webpage for more information).
