RCC to host PRAGMA in Brisbane

29 Aug 2017

RCC will host a Pacific Rim Application and Grid Middleware Assembly (PRAGMA) workshop in Brisbane on 16–17 October 2017, co-located with that week’s eResearch Australasia conference.

PRAGMA is an international, distributed community of practice for technology and approaches that support the long tail of science, namely enabling small to medium-sized international groups to make rapid progress in conducting research and education by providing and developing international, experimental cyberinfrastructure.

All researchers with an interest in PRAGMA are invited to attend the workshop. You can register for it and the conference at once. Early bird registration closes Friday, 15 September 2017.

RCC Director Prof. David Abramson and TERN (Terrestrial Ecosystem Research Network) Data Science Director Dr Siddeswara Guru are the Program Chairs of the PRAGMA workshop.

PRAGMA will also hold a poster session as part of its presence at eResearch Australasia and local research students are encouraged to submit their research works in the form of posters. The submission deadline is Friday, 15 September (more information).

The PRAGMA workshop and eResearch Australasia 2017 will be held in the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.

eResearch Australasia 2017, 18–20 October, will offer delegates the opportunity to engage, connect, and share their ideas and exemplars concerning new information-centric research capabilities, and how information and communication technologies help researchers to collaborate, collect, manage, share, process, analyse, store, find, understand and re-use information.
