Join the National Computational Merit Allocation Committee

29 Aug 2017

Australia’s National Computational Infrastructure (NCI) is calling for expressions of interest to join the National Computational Merit Allocation Committee (NCMAC).

The National Computational Merit Allocation Scheme (NCMAS) provides access, based on research and computational merit, for researchers at Australian universities and publicly-funded research agencies, to resource shares at major national computational facilities.

Resource allocations are made by NCMAC, an independent peer-review committee, with NCI providing secretariat services.

Expressions of interest for NCMAC are sought from within these specific fields of research:

  • earth systems science (atmosphere, ocean, climate), and the environment more broadly
  • geosciences (including geophysics, geochemistry and earth observation)
  • computational physics (including high-energy physics, optics, astrophysics)
  • materials physics, chemistry and engineering.

Suitably qualified and experienced researchers, including early- and mid-career researchers, who hold substantive appointments at Australian universities or publicly-funded research organisations, are welcome to apply.

NCMAC members serve a four-year term. The committee will meet in Canberra on 28–29 November 2017. Applicants must be available to attend on these dates.

The deadline for NCMAC expressions of interest is midnight AEST, Sunday, 17 September 2017 (more information).
