Prof. Ann Nicholson of Monash University’s Faculty of Information Technology gave an introductory talk on Bayesian Networks in a packed RCC seminar last Tuesday.

Prof. Nicholson presented the basic theory behind Bayesian Networks and illustrated how they can be applied to a wide range of disciplines, from environmental science to medicine.

There was standing room only and the seminar attracted attendees from across the University, indicating a lot of interest in the topic.

Based on this strong demand, RCC would be happy to arrange more detailed training on Bayesian Networks, and welcomes suggestions from researchers. If you have specific thoughts on what training you would like to see please contact RCC Director Prof. David Abramson: david.abramson@uq.edu.au.
