More expressions of interest are being sought from the UQ research community to use the university’s latest supercomputer, Wiener, which has been installed in the Queensland Brain Institute (QBI).
Wiener is a specialised high-performance computer designed specifically to accelerate extremely high-resolution image processing from microscopy facilities.
Researchers using microscopy and handling imaging workloads reliant on GPU (graphics processing unit) accelerated codes are the main target users of Wiener.
If you are interested in using Wiener for this type of work, please contact the QBI IT Help Desk: helpdesk@qbi.uq.edu.au.
For other research supercomputing requirements, such as running massively parallel codes, RCC’s other HPC resources, Tinaroo, FlashLite and Awoonga, are best suited to this work.
Contact the RCC Support Desk if you are unsure which HPC would be best suited to your research: rcc-support@uq.edu.au.
