RCC Director Professor David Abramson has joined the editorial board of the journal Computing in Science and Engineering (CiSE).
David joins the board as co-editor of the new CiSE department ‘Case Studies in Translational Computer Science’. The other co-editor is Professor Manish Parashar, Director and Chair in Computational Science and Engineering at the Scientific Computing and Imaging Institute at the University of Utah, USA.
“CiSE is a perfect journal to promote Translational Computer Science, an idea proposed by Manish and myself in 2019,” said David.
“Because CiSE focuses on computers in science and engineering, we can explore how TCS can be deployed in these applications.”
CiSE is a cross-disciplinary, international publication that focuses on computational and data-centric problems faced by scientists and engineers.
The journal emphasises innovative applications in advanced computing, simulation and analytics, among other cutting-edge techniques.
It accepts contributions from (but not limited to) those working in physics, biology, chemistry and astronomy.
The journal’s Editor-in-Chief is Professor Lorena A. Barba, who works in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at George Washington University in Washington D.C., USA.
CiSE is sponsored by the IEEE [Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers] Computer Society.
