QRIScloud Systems Engineer Denis Lujanski left RCC this month to take up a national role with AARNet, the company that operates Australia's Academic and Research Network.

AARNet provides Internet services to the Australian education and research communities and their research partners. It is widely regarded as the founder of the Internet in Australia.

As an Infrastructure Engineer, Denis will work with AARNet’s cloud services team to deliver high-quality cloud storage and compute services to Australian researchers.

Denis is a UQ Information Technology graduate with six years’ experience in the private sector, and more than three years’ experience working at RCC.

In his RCC role, Denis supported researchers with direct technical support and by managing QRIScloud, QCIF’s cloud compute service, and Nectar platforms.

The highlights of his time at RCC were “working with cutting-edge technology alongside really hardworking, intelligent and supportive colleagues. I will truly miss my colleagues,” he said.

RCC Director Prof. David Abramson said Denis had made a great contribution to the cloud services team. “We will miss Denis, both for his friendly and collaborative personality, but also for his technical contributions. I know he will be very valuable at AARNet. We look forward to working with him in that new capacity.”

RCC congratulates Denis on his new, national role.
