Aguido Horatio Davis, an experienced research software programmer from UQ, has joined RCC and QCIF's team of QRIScloud systems engineers.
Horatio specialises in Linux systems integration and administration, Unix systems and web programming (Python, C, Fortran, SQL, PHP, Javascript), software architecture and distributed algorithms.
He graduated in 2000 from Griffith University with first-class honours and majors in physics, computer science, supercomputing, applied mathematics and statistics.
He has spent the last five years as principal systems programmer at the UQ Business School. Prior to that he spent three semesters at the UQ Library, and before that, five years as principal research programmer and earth sciences research assistant at the Centre for Water in the Minerals Industry in UQ's Sustainable Minerals Institute.
"When the chance came to move from application programming at the UQ Business School to RCC and QCIF's QRIScloud operations team, I jumped at it. There are just so many interesting things going on here, and now I have a ringside seat," said Horatio.
RCC welcomes Horatio and looks forward to having him help the team deliver an even better service for QRIScloud users.
