Multinational technology company Lenovo has produced both a written and video case study about its collaboration with The University of Queensland, featuring the trial and testing at UQ of an advanced GPU platform.
The case studies feature interviews with RCC Director Jake Carroll, UQ School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science ARC Future Fellow Dr Shekhar “Shakes” Chandra; and Claire Cheng, a PhD student at UQ’s School of Chemistry and Molecular Biosciences.
They discuss the use and deployment of an HPC environment based on Lenovo’s ThinkSystem SR685a v3 server, powered by AMD Instinct MI300X accelerators. With extremely high-density GPU memory, the solution runs AI workloads much faster, reducing model training times.
