Health Hack 2017
Health Hack is back! The free, national event will take place over the weekend of 3–5 November in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. It will bring researchers, students and healthcare professionals together with other scientists, software developers, educators, engineers and designers to create innovative solutions to interesting problems.
Health Hack is currently seeking participants, volunteers, sponsors, and researchers or health professionals with problems to solve. Everyone is welcome to participate, including those from non-STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) fields. As the Health Hack website says: "Get involved. It'll be fun. Promise."
RCC/QCIF/IMB eResearch Analyst Dr Nick Hamilton is once again a "Problem Wrangler" for Health Hack, i.e. in charge of coordinating the problems to be solved. "Health Hack really is a great way for participants to develop their ideas and entrepreneurial skills, and to network with the wider health, government, and IT community," said Dr Nick.
Last year, one Health Hack Brisbane project had interest from an investor and another team met with Queensland Health about implementing their project in the state health system.

Open Knowledge Australia has run Health Hack nationally since 2013. Any queries, please contact Dr Nick at: n.hamilton@imb.uq.edu.au. More information.
