SC20
Major supercomputing conference to go fully virtual
SC20 is going online this November instead of being held in the USA, the international supercomputing conference’s traditional host country.
RCC Director Professor David Abramson is on SC20’s Planning Committee.
David is also the co-chair of a plenary session titled “More than HPC” alongside Dr Antonio (Tony) Pena from the Barcelona Supercomputing Center.
The “More than HPC Plenary” panel will be held on Monday, 16 November. The featured speaker and topic will be announced in the weeks prior to the conference. David said: “Planning the panel has been difficult, because we have had to look at virtual and physical options for the meeting. We will now be moving forward with a fully virtual panel, which promises to be very exciting. We have some great speakers lined up already.”
SC20 will be held from 9–19 November. Registration opens on 14 August and early registration closes on 19 October.
See the SC20 website for more information.
Next year, for SC21, David will be the Technical Papers chair, with Dr Ilkay Altintas from the San Diego Supercomputer Center as vice-chair.
