Australian eResearch Skilled Workforce Summit
The Australian eResearch Skilled Workforce Summit will bring together key stakeholders to collaboratively develop a vision for a digitally skilled research workforce.
The Summit will provide a platform to answer the big questions such as “what skills will our researchers, data or software specialists and research support staff need to survive and thrive in this new world of data-enabled research?”
Marco Fahmi, RCC’s Manager of Digital Humanities and Social Sciences projects, will co-lead an interest group during the Summit on capability building for HASS researchers on Tuesday 30 July.
AARNet Deployment Strategist Ingrid Mason, AARNet eResearch Analyst Dr Sara King and University of Melbourne research fellow Dr Tyne Sumner will join Marco in leading the interest group.
Their abstract states: “Rather than be left wondering how and where researchers working under the umbrella of HASS do their work, it’s time to have a wide-ranging conversation about assumptions, requirements, expertise, resources, interests and opportunities available to support capability building for HASS researchers keen to explore data, tools and national research infrastructures in their research practice.”
The Australian eResearch Skilled Workforce Summit is being coordinated by the Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC), Council of Australasian University Directors of Information Technology (CAUDIT) and Universities Australia (UA).
See the Summit website for more information and to register. Registration is free.
