Light Microscopy Australia Conference and IMB Microscopy Workshop
LMA 2019
The Light Microscopy Australia Conference (LMA 2019) will be held at Brisbane's Translational Research Institute, 6–8 March 2019.
LMA 2019 will bring together the local microscopy community to discuss the latest topics in microscopy and microscopy-based research applications. This will be a tremendous opportunity for researchers, practitioners, lab heads, facility personnel and industry to further their research and training skills and collaborate to achieve revolutionary research in the field of life science.
IMB Microscopy Workshop
Preceding LMA 2019, UQ's Institute for Molecular Bioscience (IMB) will host a workshop on Tuesday, 5 March, 9am–9pm AEST, featuring six state-of-the-art microscopes.
Workshop attendees are invited to provide their own samples (after prior discussion and approval by workshop organisers), to aid in their purchasing and research decisions by comparing systems on the same day, or to discover different imaging modalities to improve or complement their own research. Sample preparation and incubation facilities will be available before and during the workshop for attendees. Samples for both Cell and Developmental Biology will also be provided for comparison between systems.
Attendees will have access to application specialists from each exhibiting vendor, as well as IMB Microscopy staff and all IMB hardware and software resources during the workshop.
The workshop is split into morning and afternoon sessions where attendees must book a system for each session, however they are free to roam the facility to view the other systems. Analysis of datasets will be performed during the breaks using the computer hardware and software resources listed below. Vendors will hold short talks during the lunch and dinner sessions, so that all attendees may learn about all of the systems on offer. Attendees may then present their datasets during after-dinner drinks.
Location: IMB, Queensland Bioscience Precinct (Building 80) The University of Queensland, 306 Carmody Road, St Lucia.
