ResBaz Brisbane 2018
Preparations for this year’s Brisbane Research Bazaar, 6–8 June, are in full swing, with workshops announced and the website now live.
ResBaz Brisbane currently features 11 workshops, including Python, R, and Open Refine software training, Library Carpentry and introductions to HPC (high-performance computing) Carpentry, machine learning, and using image analysis tools ImageJ and Fiji.
Other workshops will cover methods and tools in digital humanities, tools for mapping and modelling species distributions, methods for quantitative literature reviews, and RNA-Seq analysis in Galaxy with the Genomics Virtual Laboratory.
The Research Bazaar is a worldwide festival promoting the digital literacy emerging at the centre of modern research.
The aim of the event is to equip researchers from all career stages and disciplines with the digital skills and tools required to do their research better, faster and smarter.
ResBaz Brisbane will also feature talks, stalls and networking games.
Griffith University will host the event at its South Bank campus in conjunction with UQ, QUT, USQ and QCIF.
Registration for ResBaz costs just $33, which includes entry to any workshop (if places available), and lunch each day.
Participation in ResBaz is still open, be it leading a talk or workshop, or signing up as a volunteer helper.
