June Tech Talk to discuss linked data in environmental sciences
Next month's Tech Talk will review the outcomes of the CSIRO-hosted International Symposium on Linking Environmental Data and Samples and discuss the perspectives for the application of linked data in earth and environmental research information infrastructures.
Tech Talk speakers will include Dr Jens Klump, Science Leader, CSIRO; Wim Hugo, systems architect for a number of interdependent data portals in South Africa; and Doug Fils, Data Management Technical Expert for the US Consortium for Ocean Leadership. Dr Simon Cox, Senior Principal Research Scientist in CSIRO Land and Water, will join the speakers in a panel discussion on: "Is Linked Data delivering its promise?"
The speakers will have just participated in the International Symposium on Linking Environmental Data and Samples, being held in Canberra, 29 May to 2 June.
The Tech Talk is held nationally, with participants joining virtually either from home or work, or from various state hubs. The Brisbane hub is RCC’s seminar room on UQ’s St Lucia Campus. Join us on Friday, 2 June, 3pm–4:30pm. Please register for this free event so refreshments can be catered accordingly.
