Abstract
The BigData Innovators Gathering (BIG) will bring together academic and industry leaders in the big data space to share the state of the art and its successful application in business. This event will be co-located with the WWW (World Wide Web) conference for the third time. The gathering will consist of keynotes from visionaries in the field, a panel on hot topics, and talks on successes and best practices.
Call for Presentation Proposals
The third BigData Innovators Gathering (BIG) will be co-located with WWW2016 in Montreal on 12 April 2016. We invite proposals for talks highlighting novel developments in the foundations, infrastructure, applications and implications of big data. Proposals will be judged on the basis of thought leadership, technical novelty and application potential; pure corporate or product marketing is discouraged. Speculative work or significant work in progress are welcome, but should be grounded in an important application.
Accepted presentations are to be delivered in person by one of the authors at the conference in Montreal.
Big 2016 Cup: Invitation to participate in a big data challenge
Academic data is one of the most important resources for researchers all over the world. Despite significant efforts by the builders of academic databases, errors still abound. One very common error is the incorrect identification of authors. In other words, papers are frequently mistakenly associated with incorrect authors. The challenge consists in verifying whether a given author has written the paper or not. For more information: http://big2016.org/big-2016-cup/
