Mozilla Global Sprint
RCC and QCIF are once again hosting the Brisbane branch of Mozilla’s Global Sprint, a two-day hackathon across 1–2 June 2017.
This year’s Sprint will focus on projects that promote, protect and build the open Web. A diverse network of scientists, educators, artists, engineers and others will come together in person and online to innovate, hack and build projects for a healthy Internet. They will investigate Internet health issues, such as Open Innovation, Digital Inclusion, Decentralisation, Privacy and Security, and Web Literacy.
In Brisbane, RCC/QCIF eResearch Analyst Team Leader Belinda Weaver will co-ordinate further development of Library Carpentry material during the Sprint. She will assemble a global team to build on work done during last year’s Sprint.
All are welcome to join Belinda in person in RCC's seminar room at UQ St Lucia to either work on Library Carpentry or other Mozilla Global Sprint projects (register for the Sprint, and register to work on Library Carpentry). Participants are also welcome to join the Sprint virtually.
Browse the Sprint’s featured projects and its full list of registered projects, or bring your own project to the table.
There are many ways to participate, either: contribute code or content; test tools or apps; proofread or write; provide visual design and graphic art; or advise or comment on project ideas or plans from your own unique perspective. All skill levels are welcome and you can spend as much or as little time as you want at the Sprint.
